How Can I Integrate With Confluence?

Create JIRA issues from content 

You can create JIRA issues from your Confluence content directly.

  1. Select/highlight the text you want to use as Summary of JIRA issue. Two icons pop up on selection of the text.
  2. Click the icon for Create JIRA Issue.

  3. The Create Issue pop-up opens. Select Project, Issue Type and enter Description. To create a Test Scenario from the selected content, select "Test Scenario" as Issue Type on the wizard.
  4. You can see the Summary is auto-populated with the text you selected on confluence page.
  5. Click Create.

How can I integrate with Jira Capture?

QMetry Test Manager addon can be easily integrated with Capture for JIRA that allows you to create JIRA issues directly from within the web application that you are testing.

Once you install the Capture for JIRA extension to your browser, click the Capture for JIRA icon beside the address bar.

It opens the pane at right for JIRA login.

Once you log into JIRA, you will able to see the Issues tab.

To create an issue, select required Project and fill other details like other issues you create usually.

You can take screenshot of the page currently open and also annotate the screenshot to add remarks like any other image editor. The screenshot is automatically attached to the issue being created.

An issue is created in JIRA and a link to it is displayed in Capture at right.

Clicking on the link opens the issue in JIRA. The Attachments section of the issue displays screenshots taken by JIRA Capture.

How can I integrate with Hipchat ?

Hip Chat integration with JIRA is project based. The JIRA/Project Administrator can integrate Hip Chat with your JIRA projects. For more information, please refer to Using JIRA applications with HipChat.

Once you integrate a HipChat room with your JIRA project, you can set issue filter and start receiving preferred notifications from JIRA in that room.

How to Integrate a Team Room

1. Click the icon for administration at the extreme right of the navigation bar and select Projects. It displays the project list you have permissions for.

2. Click on the project name you want to integrate Hip Chat with.

3. It opens Project Settings page.

4. Locate and click HipChat Integration on the vertical menu bar at left.

5. The HipChat Integration screen opens. Click the Connect HipChat button.

6. It navigates you from JIRA to HipChat. Log into your HipChat account.


7. A confirmation window mentioning JIRA server access to your HipChat account is displayed.

8. Click the Approve button to grant JIRA server access to your HipChat account.

9. It navigates you back to JIRA and asks you to select your HipChat room to integrate with the selected JIRA project.

10. Select the HipChat room from your HipChat account to integrate with JIRA. You can also add additional rooms later.

Adding "Test Scenario" Issues for Discussion

Once the room is integrated, define the issue filter and opt for the events on occurrence of which the users in the room should get notified.

For issues that match this filter: Select filter criteria for test scenario. Here, select "Test Scenario" as Type

Send a message to the room when: Select events like "Issue created", "Assignee updated", "Someone leaves a comment".

For example,
Test Scenario is selected as a filter to the issues and the above events are selected to receive notifications.
Hence, all the users in the room will receive notifications when –
  • a test scenario is created
  • Assignee of a test scenario is updated
  • someone leaves a comment to a test scenario


The following is your HipChat room where you receive the notifications.
